The parking ticket and the parking attendant services is horrendous. Better check the ticket time stamp when entering.

There’s once I assisted a friend to collect some documents for insurance claims related, and I went to the PR dept. Spoke to the lady there, her expression is priceless, priceless as in I’ve owed her a huge sum of money. Totally unfriendly, and unapproachable.

It seems there are happy to feed you their brand name medicine. Food is bad, no vegetarian option. Very little fruit, how are you supposed to promote health with such poor nutrition?

No one knows the costs of anything I just have to wait until the end to see the bill?

    Whatever.

An awful place. I stayed there as an in-patient for one night and it was a trial. Ward for two people: noisy, extremely bright artificial light all day AND NIGHT. They insist on having the lights on and the doors open all the time, while the stuff are talking loudly in the hall at all times. No rest, I didn’t sleep all night, before 6am (!) a cleaning woman came, opened the curtain around my bed and started cleaning the floor without even saying sorry for disturbing me, and she didn’t close the curtain when she left. Food and service – awful. I was admitted late, the admission process took me 3 hours and I hadn’t eaten anything since early afternoon. I missed the dinner and they didn’t offer anything, but requested that I shouldn’t eat from 6 in the morning next day because I had to go through a scan at 9. The nurse offered to bring me breakfast at 5am (!) but I, obviously, refused. Then they probably thought I am good to never eat at all, because after I came back from the scan there was no breakfast waiting for me either. When I got real hungry and started to ask for my meal at around 11 they said I would have to wait till lunch @12. They also had no idea about my dietary requirements (the doctor or nurse obviously didn’t inform them I can’t eat spicy or oily food) so they had no options for me on the menu. In the end I had my lunch @1because they had to cook something for me separately and it took them 2 hours. By that time I had gone without food for more than 20 hours. The food that arrived was disgusting and I have no idea why it took them so long – you can get much better than that at any Chinese street stall in Malaysia in 10 mins. Treatment: the doctor was quite experienced and have some good advice for which I am grateful, but he was very-very irritable, too. When he started to explain my scan results and I pointed out that 3 years ago another doctor in another country told me he saw something completely different and it couldn’t have just disappeared since then, the doctor started shouting at me that he didn’t know what other doctors told me and asked what other examination I want. I am not a doctor, how can I know what I need? I just want specialists to do they job properly. Before the scan I fainted because they were putting those needles into me and I’m not good with that. It took me 30 mins to recover, they still did the scan and then INSISTED that I have the needle sticking out of my hand till I get discharged, in case they needed it again! I felt weak all the time just looking at it (I’m pathetic, I know, but they should be a bit more sensitive to patients like that, they’re a hospital, after all!). When they finally said they discharge me, still with the needle sticking out of my hand, I first of all asked it removed. They didn’t even ask me to sit down when doing it, so I fainted again, standing. And most importantly: IF YOU ARE A FOREIGNER ON AN INTERNATIONAL INSURANCE, THEY DON’T KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH IT. They admit you and tell you lies that your case is being processed, the guarantee letter is underway and your insurance will definitely cover all the treatment they intend on doing, but when you come to the accountants before leaving, it turns out they haven’t done anything, not even submitted the doctor’s report. Later they say your insurance refuses to pay because that treatment could have been done as an outpatient and they cannot justify why they admitted me to the ward. Why did they admit me, in the first place? Just to charge me for the bed and the food I never ate? Now I’m sitting in the lobby, eager to go home away from this shit of a place, but have to wait while they are struggling to obtain a guarantee letter from my insurance head office in London. I have no idea how long it’ll take and I suspect they’re hoping I’ll just give up, pay myself and go. I’m more than certain I’ll never ever come here again and will also let all my local friends and colleagues know about my experience.

My 1st child was delivery in Hong Kong General Hospital, Kwong Wah on 2010. Normal delivery excluded baby, baby room, pediatrician and price at HKD 48000 (approx RM 24-26k). Yet the service is not good. Therefore I plan to deliver my 2nd baby in Penang home town. I went to Penang Gleneagles Hospital as a well known hospital to ask for maternity package. I went into the international patient center and approached a vacant service consultant shall I get a queue number. Her face show very unfriendly and talk to me without eye contact. Then she is the one who served me and I ask for single room package. Again, her respond is unapproachable replied in a way make me felt she look me down that ” we don’t have single room package”. Then I ask mean here have no single room? She then said single room no package, it’s under separate charge. My budget is not exceeded RM 20k after 5 years especially in Malaysia. So I ask her carefully it is over RM 20k? She then bring me a A4 size maternity information details and show me price at RM 5-8k inclusive baby, room etc. I just felt only this much? Why the service consultant act in a manner the price like I can’t afford? Because I wear a backpack and in casual? This is how poor experince I had with Gleneagles Hospital Penang.
